Celine Dion’s Husband Steps Down As Her Manager

Celine Dion’s husband, Rene Angelil, has stepped down as her manager after more than 30 years.

The couple announced that entertainment executive Aldo Giampaolo, who has worked alongside them for 25 years, will step in as the boss of the “Think Twice” singer’s management company Feeling Productions.

A statement reads, “It is with great pleasure and with the utmost confidence that Rene Angelil announces today that his long-time close friend, Aldo Giampaolo, has been appointed as chief executive officer of Feeling Productions Inc., the company which manages Celine Dion’s career.

“Celine and Rene have decided that the time has come to bring this appointment to fruition, one that Rene had proposed to Aldo several years ago.”

Angelil discovered Dion in 1981 when she was aged 12 and he helped make her a superstar. The 72-year-old underwent surgery for throat cancer in December.

He will stay on as chairman of Feeling Productions.

Popular Actress Telangana Shakuntala Passes Away, Celebrities Condole Her Death

Actress Telangana Shakuntala passed away following a heart attack on late Thursday night (13 June) at her residence in Kompally, Hyderabad. She was 63. The actress is survived by her two children.

Shakuntala suffered a stroke and collapsed in her home. She was rushed to the Narayana Hrudayalam hospital in Suraram, but doctors declared her brought dead, reported Gulte. The actress is popular for her Telangana accent and portrayal of her characters in films.

She began her film career in 1981 and since then has starred in several Telugu films. Some of her notable films include "Nuvvu Nenu", "Gangotri", "Okkadu", "Lakshmi" and "Gulabi" among others. Shakuntala became popular in the Tamil film industry with her villainous character of Sorna akka in "Dhool", starring Vikram and Jyothika. 

She has starred in more than 70 films in her film career and was last seen in the Telugu comedy entertainer "Pandavulu Pandavulu Thummeda", which hit screens in January 2014.

Prior to entering films, Shakuntala worked as a stage artiste. She was a versatile actress and has taken on comic as well as villainous roles.

The death of Shakuntala has shocked the Telugu film fraternity. Several film celebrities have expressed grief over the death of the talented actress.
