Two Day Canival To Rock Accra Ghana On The 28 and 29 Of June

A two-day carnival themed ‘My Culture Rocks’ has been slated to happen on June 28 and June 29 in Accra.

This was recently announced by Mrs Elizabeth Ofosu-Adjare, Minister of Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts.

She said at the launch of the carnival that the country needed to show the variety of tourist options available here as a way of highlighting our cultural identity and a well-organised street carnival could be a pointer in that direction.

To the Minister, the carnival could also open up employment outlets for many people, including service providers of all sorts.
Carnivals are big events in a number of places in the Caribbean, Europe and South America.

They are platforms for bringing people together around common themes and the Brazilian and German communities in Accra have in recent times been hosting versions of the carnivals celebrated in their countries for those not able to be in Rio or Munich for the original carnivals.

Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts sources indicate that a street parade to take off from the Community Youth Culture Centre at Kawukudi through the Oxford Street at Osu to the Independence Square and a food bazaar at the Independence Square.are among the events planned for the carnival.

According to Mrs Elizabeth Ofosu-Adjare, other activities such as performances by groups from the various regions and a beach party at the La Pleasure Beach are among the planned events.

For the ministry to think of something like this and give to the people of Ghana, we say thank you and will definitely be there to make it an enjoyable one and wish to see you there as well.

Yvonne Nelson Responds To Her Bleaching Saga

Top Ghanaian actress, Yvonne Nelson is one make-believe star that is not without one controversy or the other. Recall that some months ago, she was in a rumoured affair with Nigerian singer and debut winner of MTN Project Fame West Africa, Iyanya Mbuk.

Even though she earlier denied having any romantic affair with Iyanya, despite pictures showing the two of them together at a beach and the singer mentioning her name repeatedly in one of his hit tracks, ‘Your Waist’, but when the relationship turned sour, she publicly ranted and accused her Nigerian lover of being a cheat. She further disclosed then that she was dumped for another actress, though a Nigerian, who many believe is Tonto Dikeh.

Yvonne has also been accused of bleaching her skin, an allegation she has also denied.

Speaking on this issue last week, the actress maintained that she did not use any bleaching cream on her skin, explaining that camera flashes and filters make pictures she posts on the internet look like she applied a lighting cream on her skin. The actress lamented that she is tired of explaining to people that she did not bleach her skin contrary to what many believe.

Bleaching in Africa is what is frowned at, but it is gradually becoming the norm. Dencia, a Cameroonian singer, was accused of selling a bleaching cream, but she has kicked against this, claiming her product was not made to bleach skins of its users.

In Nollywood, most actresses prefer to appear ‘white’ as that seems to be the criteria for becoming a mega star. Recently, Cynthia Morgan, a female artiste in Nigeria, was criticized for her change of colour, likewise Thelma O’Khaz, an actress in Nigeria, who said her controversial picture as a result of studio works.

Jim Iyke Releases Statement About his Relationship With Nadia Buari

Last week, Ghanaian journalist Vincent broke the story about the celebrity breakup,he said  “It took me quite a long time to buy into the speculation that Nadia Buari and Jim Iyke were not only banging mates, but were truly in a relationship.
Even when my sources close to Nadia Buari confirmed to me that she was in a real relationship with Jim Iyke, I just couldn’t bring myself to accept this—and always wondered how Nadia Buari was going to handle Jim Iyke’s temper.
I only truly accepted that their relationship was real when my sources at a hotel they both stayed in at East Legon (a place I’ve stayed before) also mentioned that, Jim and Nadia were hiding there in one room—splashing what seems like love all over the place…But that was then!
For those who said the Nadia Buari and Jim Iyke’s relationship was not going to last, I am somehow sorry to say; you were RIGHT. Nadia Buari has ended her relationship with Jim Iyke, citing his bad temper as the main reason.

2013 Ghana Music Awards Artiste of the year, Shatta wale has lashed out at the Ghanaian media at what he describes as a deliberate ploy to associate him with negativity.

He was reacting to recent rumors in the press that he had deliberately refused to visit his manager Nana Asiama Hanson [Bull dog] after he got arrested.

Nana Asiama Hanson was arrested for the murder of Fenec Okyere, manager of Kwaw Kese after investigations by the homicide unit of the Police Criminal investigative department pointed to him as the prime suspect.

Speaking to Citi News in an exclusive interview, Shatta Wale questioned the rationale behind all the negative reports and said he was not in any way swayed by them. “The industry people are always talking about me. But I know it is God who’s brought me this far.”

Lilwin Responds To His Weed Saga At The Ghana Meets Naija Night

Kwadwo Nkansa, aka Lil Win, debatably the funniest Ghanaian actor, has debunked reports making the rounds that he was promoting the use of marijuana during his performance at the ‘Ghana Meets Naija’ concert over the weekend, stating emphatically that the reports “are misleading” and do not reflect the true message of the act he put up. “It is true I said people should grind weed and mix it if you listened to me, I also said people go mad when they smoke wee. I said it can make you hit town and start walking around like a mad person. But I was cut short right in the middle of my act. The whole act was to preach against the use of weed and drugs in general but midway; I was cut short and made to leave the stage when I had not concluded the comedy act; and now people say I was endorsing weed. It is not fair,” Lil Win explained. He called on his fans and Ghanaians in general to disregard the negative reports making the rounds about him and rather judge him by his reputation over the years.

Ghana Actor Lilwin Weed Saga At The Ghana Meets Naija Show

The Ghana meets Naija concert ended last night but not without problems. Kwadwo Nkansah Lil Win who came to entertain patrons at the venue with Guru ended his whole performance with the promotion of Marijuana – an act most Ghanaians frown upon. The actor earlier opened a polythene bag he was holding and showed the goods in it to Guru whilst they were performing but Guru laughed.

After Guru left stage, Lil Win said he had a medicine he was selling and ended by saying its ‘wee’. After a period of making that statement, DJ Black, the man behind the turntables started interrupting his speech because of the ‘wee’ promotion he started but Lil Win insulted him with his usual jovial insults.

After several noise by the DJ to stop Lil Win, he seems to be too engrossed into his jokes about the ‘wee’ but DJ Black put the actor’s microphone off which made him (Lil Win) hurriedly run off the stage.

The organizers of the show should have listened to the joke he was saying to the audience better than what they did to him,because according to him Lilwin what he was holding was just a dried flower but not a weed.To me I say sorry to Lilwin and his fans.

Meet The Girl Who Worshiped Sarkodie At The Ghana Meets Naija Show

2014 Ghana meets naija concert which came off on Saturday, May 24th at the Accra International Conference center witnessed another mind blowing performance by Sarkodie. As usual, a lot was invested into his production to make sure he brings out the beast in him that night.

Somewhere along the line into Sark’s performance, a lady from nowhere run on the stage to sleep under the feet of Sarkodie. The lady held the rapper’s legs till she felt comfortable and stood up with the help of Sarkodie’s bodyguard. When she stood, she embraced Sarkodie for some seconds and by the look of things, one would realise that her dream of meeting the BET award-winner had come to past – in fact she is Sarkodie’s number one fan.

One surprising thing which happened after the girl embraced Sarkodie was when she started walking side by side as if the Holy Spirit had descended on her.  The Sark spirit entered her when she embraced him hence that feeling. It took the help of Sark’s bodyguard to help direct the lady out of the stage till she left.

After the too emotional scene which happened between Sarkodie and his fan, Obidi started crying. The musician for minutes could not say a word till he realised he was on stage to perform but not to cry

 

 

I was very surprised to see the girl running up to the stage, thinking she was going to give Sark a hug or even a dance to show how she loves the song but not till she started kneeling down to worship the hip life star. I think she will forever be remembered by Sarkodie for what she did and I personally don't see the sense in what she did, do you have anything to say?
